Pauline Hüners

Pauline Hüners, born in 1981 in Hamburg, studied costume design under Dirk Bodisco and Reinhardt von der Thannen until 2009 at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg and at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. While studying, her first works were developed with the directors Elizabeth Rech and Jette Steckel with whom she has worked consistently since 2006. As part of Jette Steckel’s team, Pauline Hüners designed costumes for productions Der Fremde (2011) Dantons Tod (2012) and Die Tragödie von Romeo und Julia (2014) at the Thalia Theater Hamburg; Caligula (2008), Die schmutzigen Hände (2012), Das weite Land (2014) and 10 Gebote (2017) at the Deutsches Theater Berlin; Tosca (2013) at the Theater Basel; Antigone (2015) at the Burgtheater Vienna, among others. She has also worked with the directors Lilja Rupprecht, Ulrich Matthes and Christian Schwochow (Deutsches Theater Berlin) and Alia Luque (Thalia Theater). She has designed and made the costumes for several graduation projects at German film academies as well as Jan Bolender’s feature film debut (Das kleine Fernsehspiel / ZDF, 2012).
