Lilja Rupprecht

Born 1984 in Hamburg. From 2005 to 2009 assistant director at the Thalia Theater Hamburg. There she directs Harold and Maude by Colin Higgins (2009). From 2009 she studied directing at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" in Berlin. At the Deutsches Theater Berlin she directed The Legend of Paul and Paula after Ulrich Plenzdorf (2010), Lenz after Georg Büchner (2012), Jules and Jim after Henri-Pierre Roché (2013) and Hundeherz after Michail Bulgakow (2016). Further productions followed with Caligula by Albert Camus (Volkstheater Munich, 2015), Groß und Klein by Botho Strauß (Schauspiel Cologne, 2016), Mary Page Marlowe by Tracy Letts (2017) and Amerika nach Franz Kafka (Schauspiel Stuttgart, 2018). In January 2019 her production Antigone von Sophokles (in cooperation with the RambaZamba Theater) premiered in the Box of the Deutsches Theater. In the season 2019/20 her new work Ode by Thomas Melle will hold its wold premiere at the Kammerspiele of the Deutsche Theater Berlin.
