Julia Windischbauer

Julia Windischbauer was born in 1996 in Linz, Upper Austria. From 2016 to 2020 she studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. Prior to her training she gained theatre experience at the Musical Theatre Academy Puchenau and took part in theatre clubs at the Landestheater Linz and the Junge Burg in Vienna. During her studies she worked with Moritz Hauthaler (Das Schloss) and Caroline Kapp (nineeleven-saidwho, Münchner Volkstheater), among others, and was part of the project heaven in pity (director: Nicola Hümpel), which was shown at the Münchner Kammerspiele and radialsystem Berlin in 2018. In her third year of study she became a permanent ensemble member of the Münchner Kammerspiele and worked with Stefan Pucher (King Lear) and Toshiki Okada (The Vacuum Cleaner), among others, whose play was invited to the Theatertreffen 2020. In 2019 she received the O.E. Hasse-Prize of the Academy of Arts for outstanding talent. Julia Windischbauer has been a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin since the 2020/21 season.
