"Sorry, it cannot carry on this way. I hereby declare myself a stateless citizen of the world." (Garry Davis, 1948)
in 1948, the American bomber pilot, actor and activist Garry Davis called the global citizens movement into being. In front of the United Nations General Assembly he advocated for the eradication of nation states and for world citizenship. The theatre collective Turbo Pascal go in search of young global citizens – in three different schools in Berlin Mitte, Kreuzberg and Lichtenberg. Together with these young Berliners, they tell the story of Garry Davis from different perspectives, mixing it up with their own passport stories and passport fantasies. What would you lose if you gave up your citizenship? And what would it mean to actually demand global citizenship for all people?
