Andy Besuch, born in 1983, works for various theatres as well as for national and international film productions. Numerous high-value commercials with his costume design have won gold at Cannes. He develops concepts for series formats and cinema films, including Sommerhäuser produced by Walker und Worms (director: Sonja Kröner), Otsravanganza (director: Martin Miotk), Bolzanogold (Peter Greenaway) and Uns geht es gut in the production of X Filme Creative Pool GmbH. His work in drama and opera can be seen in numerous theatres (Cologne, Hanover, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Residenztheater Munich, Kammerspiele Munich, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Berliner Schaubühne, Hamburger Schauspielhaus, Königliches Theater Kopenhagen, Nationaltheater Weimar, Oper Karlsruhe, Oper Graz, Burgtheater Wien etc.). In addition to working partners such as Simone Blattner, Lucia Biehler, Florian Lutz, Claudia Bossard, Suse Wächter, Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, he has worked closely with Falk Richter. He was voted Costume Designer of the Year for Elfriede Jelinek's Am Königsweg (director: Falk Richter) in the 2018/19 season. For the 2022 season opening of the Opéra national de Paris, he designs the costumes for Salome (director: Lydia Steier). The production can be seen in cinemas worldwide. Following his collaboration with Valentin Schwarz at the Cologne Opera on Der Meister und Margerita, Andy Besuch is also designing the costumes for Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Bayreuther Festspiele.
