Vita

Born in Graz, Almut Zilcher completed her training at the Mozarteum in Salzburg in 1974. In 1992, she was voted Actress of the Year by the magazine ‘theater heute’ for Fräulein Julie (director: Dimiter Gotscheff). She has performed at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus and the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, the Schauspielhaus Bochum, the Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Schauspiel Köln, the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin and at the Salzburger Festspiele. Almut Zilcher has worked with directors such as Adolf Dresen, George Tabori, Leander Haußmann, Werner Schroeter, Karin Beier, Jossi Wieler, Karin Henkel, Nicolas Stemann, Michael Thalheimer and Hans Neuenfels.

Almut Zilcher has been a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin since the 2006/07 season. She has regularly appeared in productions by Dimiter Gotscheff, most recently in Krankenzimmer Nr. 6, Der Mann ohne Vergangenheit and Verkommenes Ufer Medeamaterial Landschaft mit Argonauten | Mommsens Block. In 2011, she received the Theatre Prize of the Stiftung Preußische Seehandlung together with Samuel Finzi, Wolfram Koch and Dimiter Gotscheff.
