David Heiligers is a guest dramaturge at Deutsches Theater Berlin. In the 2024/25 season, he will become Head Dramaturg at Schauspielhaus Zürich together with Anika Steinhoff.

From 2015 to 2023, he was a permanent dramaturg at the Deutsches Theater, where he worked continuously with directors Anne Lenk, Jan Bosse, Daniela Löffner, Thom Luz, Ulrich Rasche and Stephan Kimmig, among others. During this time, he was involved in several invitations to renowned festivals such as the Berliner Theatertreffen and the Mülheimer Theatertage. In 2019 he co-founded the DT Climate Group, since 2021 he has been a Green Ambassador for the Theatertreffen's Ecological Sustainability Forum and in 2023 he completed a certified training course to become a Transformation Manager for Sustainable Culture through the Sustainability Action Network.

Previously, David Heiligers worked as a dramaturge at the Munich Volkstheater, where he worked with directors such as Lilja Rupprecht, Christian Stückl, Abdullah Kenan Karaca and Brit Bartkowiak. He gained his first professional experience as a permanent assistant director for two years at the Münchner Kammerspiele and one year at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin. He also directed his own productions at both theatres, as well as a number of funded projects in Munich's independent theatre scene. David Heiligers was born in Karlsruhe and studied theatre studies, modern German literature, psychology and Spanish at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.
