Alexander Khuon was born in Freiburg. He studied at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theatre in Leipzig from 1999 to 2001. During his studies, he performed at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden and from 2002 at Schauspiel Köln.

He made his debut in Wer hat Angst vor Virginia Woolf (director: Jürgen Gosch) and has worked with directors such as Michael Thalheimer, Nicolas Stemann, Dušan David Parizek, Christian Petzold and Stephan Kimmig.

Alexander Khuon has been a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin since the 2004/05 season. He has appeared in productions by Jürgen Gosch, Michael Thalheimer, Dušan David Parizek, Christian Petzold and Stephan Kimmig. In recent seasons, he has appeared in, among others in Thomas Melle's Ode (director: Lilja Rupprecht), Jean-Paul Sartre's The Game is Over (director: Jette Steckel), in Friels after Turgenev's Fathers and Sons (director: Daniela Löffner), in Dietrich Brüggemann's Father (director: Dietrich Brüggemann), in Chekhov's The Seagull (director: Jürgen Gosch), in Die stillen Trabanten by Clemens Meyer (director: Armin Petras), in Zeiten des Aufruhrs based on the novel by Richard Yates (director: Jette Steckel) and in Maria Stuart by Friedrich Schiller (director: Anne Lenk). In 2011, Alexander Khuon was honoured with the Gertrud Eysoldt Ring for his performance in the role of the writer Trigorin in The Seagull.

Alexander Khuon is on parental leave in the 2023/24 season.
