Vita
Jonas Hien was born in Munich and grew up in Berlin. He studied acting at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theatre in Leipzig.
He then joined the ensemble of the Neues Theater Halle for two years. He worked there with Claudia Bauer, Herbert Fritsch, Christian Weise and Enrico Lübbe, among others. During this time, he also developed the comedy project Stulle und Bulle together with Sebastian Kaufmane, with which he performed in many cities until 2015.
From 2009 to 2012, he was a member of the ensemble at Magdeburg Theatre, where he performed in productions by Jan Jochymski, Claudia Bauer and Martin Nimz, among others. From 2012, Jonas Hien worked as a freelance actor and director; he performed at Schauspiel Leipzig, at Volksbühne Berlin in the Herbert Fritsch productions Murmel Murmel (invited to the 2012 Berliner Theatertreffen), Ohne Titel Nr.1 (invited to the 2013 Berliner Theatertreffen) and Frau Luna. He has also directed productions at the Magdeburg Theatre and the Greifswald Theatre, among others.
From the 2014/15 to 2021/22 season, he was a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. He has worked there several times with Karin Beier, Markus Bothe, Herbert Fritsch and Studio Braun. In addition to his theatre work, he also appears in cinema and television productions and regularly performs in the satirical magazine Extra 3 and the Browser Ballett.
Jonas Hien has been a member of the Deutsches Theater Berlin ensemble since the 2023/24 season.
