Vita

Born in Basel, Lorena Handschin gained her first theatre experience at the Junges Theater Basel with director Suna Gürler and graduated from high school with a focus on jazz singing. From 2015 to 2019, she studied acting at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts.

In the 2018/19 season, she was part of the acting studio at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. She was a study and sponsorship award winner of the Migros-Kulturprozent.

Lorena Handschin has been a member of the ensemble at Deutsches Theater Berlin since the 2019/20 season. She has worked with Anne Lenk, Jan Bosse and Amir Reza Koohestani, among others.

In 2020, Lorena Handschin was awarded the Swiss acting prize Prix Swissperform for her role in the Swiss television production Nr. 47.
