Theatre author and director Milena Michalek always develops her projects in collective thinking and close collaboration with her ensemble. At Deutsches Theater Berlin, she will write and direct a new play that starts with a joint exploration of the phenomenon and basic need for sleep: The clandestine knowledge of the sleeping body, the unequal distribution of bed ownership, the guilty conscience of the late riser and the deliberately soporific dramaturgy of the bedtime story could all play a role. What brings and what robs us of sleep, this matter that is as nightly as it is profound?
