Jens Koch, born in Werne in Westphalia, trained as an actor at the Schule des Theaters at the Theater der Keller in Cologne from 1999 to 2003.

Permanent and guest engagements have taken him to the Theater Heidelberg, the Theater für Niedersachsen, the Theater der Keller in Cologne, the Theater Trier, the Theater Aachen, the Oper Halle, the Rheinisches Landestheater Neuss, the Staatstheater Darmstadt, the Theaterdiscounter and the HAU in Berlin. Jens Koch has already worked with directors such as Patrick Wengenroth, Martin Nimz, Marc Becker, Andreas Nathusius, Bernada Horres, Jörg Gade, Jürgen Lorenzen, Bernd Mottl and Bettina Rehm.

In 2011, Jens Koch was a fellow of the International Forum as part of the Berliner Theatertreffen. Since the 2015/16 season, he has been a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where he has worked with Ronny Jakubaschk, Lily Sykes, Juliane Kann, Christian Brey and Anna Bergmann, among others.

Jens Koch has been a member of the ensemble at Deutsches Theater Berlin since the 2023/24 season.
