ATT 2025 Stories of not belonging

Eleven festival days, eleven Berlin premieres, four new studio texts in one long night: the ATT are a window onto contemporary plays and themes. In a time that calls for commitment – to clarity, homogeneity, coherence – the ATT 2025 tells stories of not belonging.

As the highlight of the festival, actors from three ensembles – the Deutsches Theater, the DT Jung* and the RambaZamba Theater Berlin – will present the plays created during the ATT residency programme. Miku Sophie Kühmel, Josephine Witt, Guido Wertheimer and a group of authors from the RambaZamba Theater have been working on plays in the theatre's own writing studio throughout the current season. The texts will be performed in staged settings at the end of the ATT and seen for the first time ever. The journey takes us across glowing islands, through the German seasons and into the ruins of Berlin. As a parcours across four stages and a joint theatre festival, the evening will present four new plays in succession.

The ATT has been around for 30 years. Rarely before – it seems – has there been so much to discuss. We look forward to eleven days and eleven nights that will provide the occasion and space for this.

Advance ticket sales for all events from 11 to 21 June 2025 will start on 10 May 2025.
